Global Mute runs entirely in your browser. We have no servers, no analytics, and no way to see what tabs you have open or what audio you're controlling.

Information We Collect

None. Global Mute does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. The extension:

  • Does not track your browsing history
  • Does not record which tabs you mute or pause
  • Does not send any data to external servers
  • Does not use analytics or tracking scripts

Local Storage

The only data stored locally is your theme preference (light/dark/system). This is stored using Chrome's local storage API and never leaves your device.

Cookies

Global Mute does not use cookies of any kind.
